Eclectic restaurants

For Indonesian food, we regularly visit one of the numerous gudeg, pecel lele or bakmi jawa places scattered around. Some of our go-to Western places (Mediteranea, Kasama, Via Via, Nanamia, Mongo Chocolate, Tempo Gelato) are 15 minutes away.

Perfect beaches

The Queen of the South awaits you at Pantai Parangtritis—she may be lurking the surf. Just don’t attract her attention by wearing green…

The gems--UNESCO sites

Borobudur, Candi Mendut, Prambanan, Candi Sewu, Ratu Boko, Candi Barong, Candi Banyunibo—to name a few. You can spend a day or a month just exploring Jogja’s ancient history.
